Essential Oils and Sinus

For many the  arrival of spring brings on the dreaded attack of the sinuses.  For many years I fell pray to this as well. I would have to take sinus medications on a daily basis just to get some relief.  And this irritated me because I have never been a lover of medications. I always preferred to take natural or herbal remedies to cure my aliments.

Over the years I found myself clearing out my medicine cabinets and restocking them with herbal teas–hyssop, peppermint, dandelion, nettle etc. The teas worked so well that I started to purchase the herbs in liquid form too. Whenever I’m attracted by the sinus monster I use hyssop or peppermint tea. I have found it beneficial to also use the oils to rub my body down as well. In a short time my nasal passages are open and I can breathe comfortably.

There are may other oils that are also beneficial for sinus troubles–eucalyptus, angelica root, clove bud, pine, sweet basil, and lemon. If you’re tired of having to use medications to manage your sinus problems why not explore the possibility of essential oils?

Essential oils are versatile and can be used in your bath or as a ointment for your body. You can even purchase them as a herb and use them in your tea.
