I was awoken with a dream and the dream is as follows

I was in a church that was not familiar to me. My eldest son was there and he was doing some cleaning and he was handling some of my essential oil bottles. He happened to break the cap of the bottle which called the oil and the fragrance to escape. I was taking to a guy that looked like Danny from CSI NY, when my son came over to tell me what had happened to the bottle cap.

Danny was asking me when were we going to join this church. I told him that the Lord had not released us yet–so we could not join. Then he said to me suppose it takes 13 years for you to get that release. My response was that I hope not for we have been praying to the Lord to give us the release this year. I mentioned to him that the good thing is that we can come to this church and participate in the festivities even though we are not released to join.

My son then came over a second time and told me he had broken another cap. My response to him was why wouldn’t you remove the oil and put it some place safe if you know that you have a tendency to break the caps.I was kind of irritated at my son for breaking this.

The guy Danny took this opportunity to leave.

Then the scene changed.

People started to come in. They were exalting the Lord and praising him for what he has done and for who he is. It was amazing watch as the people were doing this. The musicians started to worship and praise the Lord as well. As I heard the music in my dreams I got caught up in the worship in my dream and started to worship the Lord as well in tongues and prophetically. My heart was extremely glad and jubilant and it was so real and in total worship. I was charged.

Then the scene changed again. We were in the corridor of the church and there were a lot of people there around me. I was giving them the word of the Lord that I had received from the Lord. I seems like I was giving it for a while. And I am not sure what I said. But after a while it was just two people there.

When I gave this part of the word “Release your worship to the Lord and he will pour abundance into your bosom” (this was the word that I spoke). When I saw that only two people were there to receive this part the word I was irritated. I remarked that people need to have patience and learn to wait on the word of the Lord.

One of the two women said to me “I receive the word.” That is when the dream cut off.

Interpretation

Though that many may gather to hear the word of the Lord, there will be few that are really interested in knowing what God has said. But even fewer of them will actually receive that word. It went from a large crowd to two. And out of the two half chose to receive the word of the Lord as so.

The other part is to come into worship of the Lord with the praises and thankfulness on your lips not waiting to be coerced or primed up to worship. For the people in the dream did not hear the music playing. They came in with worship, thankfulness and praise. This is what allowed the worship to go up into that higher level of worship where God was there and he was speaking.

The oils I am not sure of the full significance of this yet. But in the dream the aromas were released because there was nothing left to contain it. The fragrance was able to ascend. The oil represented the prayers that had gone before and I believe the worship that had accompanied the prayers but also the foreshadowing of the worship that was getting ready to take place. In the dream my son was going through the act of cleaning–which could be repenting, confessing etc. But as he was doing it the caps of the oils got broken and these oils were expensive for they were essential oils and not just fragrances that mimic the sents of the oils.

Prayer and worship go hand in hand and they are a sweet fragrance before the throne of God (Ps 95:2, Ps 100:4,Ps 141:2 and Rev 5:8).

Today as I was in worship before the Lord he gave me a song that was crying out for mercy.

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me,

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me,

Mercy on me

Please have mercy on me

Mercy on me

Please have mercy on me

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me,

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me,

Mercy on me

Please have mercy on me

Mercy on me

Please have mercy on me

I’m singing, Oh Lord, please have mercy on me,

Oh Lord, please have mercy on me,

Mercy on me

Please have mercy on me

Mercy on me

Please have mercy on me

Cry out

Plead

It’s mercy for me, it is mercy on me

Lord, I thank you it’s mercy for me,

Yes it’s mercy on me

I’m crying, Oh Lord please have mercy on me…

It’s mercy on me, it’s mercy on me…

The Message:

The Bible tells us that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives Psalms 23:6. There is something tangable and important about that mercy of God. Sometimes we have to just cry out to the Lord to have mercy on us. Sometimes we don’t even know the offenses that we have committed against God. But because of his love he will send goodness, that will overshadow the things that we have done.

I thank him for the mercy…

Song continued

I’m singing

Oh Lord, thank you for the mercy for me

Oh Lord, you sent that mercy for me

You sent mercy for me

I’m singing thank you for the mercy for me

I thank you for the mercy for me…

(repeat over from top)

As mentioned in our prior articles essential oils can be used for inhalation, diffusion, baths, soaps, cooking, repellent, and candle making among other things. There are several other ways that these oils can be used.

Vaginal Retention: For systemic health problems such as candida or vaginitis. Mix 20-30 drops of essential oil in 2 table spoons of carrier oil. Apply mixture to tampon for internal infection or a sanitary pad for external lesions. Insert and retain for 8 hours or overnight. Use tampons/p[ads made with organic cotton.

Rectal Retention: Retention enemas are the best way to get essential oils into the urinary tract. (Use sterile syringe). Mix 15-20 drops of essential oil in a table spoon of carrier oil. Place mixture in a syringe and inject into rectum. Retain the mixture through the night (or longer).

Water Distillers and Filters: On the post-filter side of your water purifier you can apply oils like peppermint, lemon, clove, or cinnamon which will help to purify your water.

Dishwashing Soap: By adding essential oils to your liquid soap you can either improve the fragrance or the antiseptic action. (Fragrances like: lavender, lemon, orange, pine, fir, or spruce).

Cleaning and Disinfecting: Oils like peppermint, orange, pine, and tangerine are wonderful disinfectants when added to your dishwasher—but any other antibacterial oil can also be used.

Painting: By adding one teaspoon of your favorite essential oil to one gallon of paint will counteract the unpleasant smell of the paint. Because the oils are not fatty oils they will not leave oil spots on the wall (Young Living Essential Oils).

Surface Cleansers: In a plastic spray bottle mix water, a squirt of dishwashing soap, and 3 to 5 drops each of lavender, lemon and pine essential oils. Shake well. Now your homemade cleaner is ready for use. There are several other antiviral oils that are excellent for cleaning—grapefruit, lemongrass, thyme, eucalyptus, juniper, and spruce. Don’t use the oils directly on surfaces since they may stain (dilute the oils as directed above).

Floors and Carpets: Cleaning your floors with essential oils is a piece of cake. Use ¼ cup of vinegar in a bucket of water, add in 5-10 drops of lemon, pine, spruce, melaleuca alternifolia, Thieves oil blend (or any other suitable oil). If the floor is especially dirty add in several drops of dishwashing liquid.

To freshen you carpet you can add 16-20 drops of essential oil to a cup of baking soda or borax powder. Mix will and place in a covered container overnight this will allow the oil to be absorbed. Sprinkle over the carpet the next day and vacuum.

Hot Tubs and Saunas: Use three drops of oil per person in the hot tub—lavender, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus globules, thyme, lemon, or grapefruit. You can use scented water to spray down hot sauna stones or surfaces – place a few drops of essential oil in a spray bottle with water and then spray down surfaces.

Many people don’t know the difference between essential oils and synthetic oils that claim to be essential oils. They may look the same and even smell the same but they lack the medicinal properties that are inherent in essential oils. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are far more potent than these adulterated oils.

Extraction Process

(Source: Essential Oils Desk Reference)

There are several ways to extract oils from plant material. In ancient times enfleurage was used. They would put the petals from roses or jasmine in goose or goat fat and the essential oil molecules were pulled from the petals into the fat. Though this was a primitive method it was effective.

Today steam distillation is used but soaking plant parts in boiling water, soaking them in alcohol, or cold pressing are also other methods used to extract the essence of a plant.

Guidelines for Safe Usage of Essential Oils

Keep bottles of essential oils tightly closed and stored in a cool location away from light. This will help them retain their potency for many years.

Keep oils out of the reach of children.

Keep pure vegetable oil (e.g., olive, almond, etc.) handy when using oils. Vegetable oils can be used to dilute the essential oils if they cause discomfort.

Keep essential oils away from the eyes as it can cause irritation. (Wash hands before touching your eyes).

If pregnant consult your doctor before using any essential oils. Be sure to avoid sage, fennel, and hyssop.

Never add more than 1-3 drops of undiluted essential oils directly into bath water as it can cause irritation. As a general rule never use more than 10 drops of essential oils in one bath.

Keep essential oils away from open flames, sparks, or electricity.

Essential oils should not be given as a dietary supplement to children under six years of age.

When using essential oils orally (Young Living Essential Oils) dilute them with vegetable oil, blue agave, or rice milk prior to ingestion. Though many of Young Living Essential Oils can be taken without dilution (like lavender or lemon) others may require dilution. (You can learn more about dilution and dilution amounts by clicking the link).

Over the years I started to suffer with hair loss. I went to see a dermatologist who recommended that I use biotin and folic acid tablets. For a while this worked, but my hair remained dry and brittle.

After a period of time I started to do some research about herbs that could help me with my hair loss. I found nettle (which is good for dry hair and hair loss). I started to drink nettle tea which isn’t one of the best tasting teas, but I was on a mission to get back my hair.

As my job became more stressful I noticed that my hair started to thin out more. This caused me to get more stressed–because my hair was attached to my self-worth and my womanhood. I started to do extensive research in my herbal books and found tree oil and chamomile tea. I also changed my diet to one high in fruits and vegetables and asked the Lord to restore my hair.

Hair loss (or alopecia) isn’t something that we have to suffer with for life. There are many natural things that we can do to prevent and/or restore our hair. The wonderful thing about herbs and essential oils is that our bodies are created to absorb and extract what it needs to be able to heal itself. A simple shampoo can be made with essential oils (100% natural oils).

Essential oils can be used for personal care - in baths, on your body, on your hair, on your face.

If you are ready to explore natural options to restore your hair… try this simple shampoo formula.

Shampoo

100 ml of a natural shampoo mixed with

2 drops of tree oil

7 drops of lavender oil

8 drops of carrot oil

7 drops of rosemary oil

15 drops pf jojoba oil

Please do not use more essential oil than specified (to avoid irritation). This shampoo can be used as your regular shampoo.

Lavender Ice-cream

Source: Kevin D. Weeks, About.com

Ingredients:

2 cups heavy cream

1 cup half and half

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tbsp. honey

2 tbsp. dried edible lavender flowers (available in gourmet and herb stores)

4 lg. egg yolks

1/8 tsp. salt

Preparation:

1. Heat milk, honey, lavender, salt and 1 cup of the heavy cream in a sauce pan over medium heat until mixture begins to bubble and an instant-read thermometer reads 170 – 175 degrees F.

2. Remove from heat, cover, and allow to steep for 30 minutes. Strain mixture into a medium bowl and discard lavender.

3. Return cream mixture to sauce pan over medium heat and warm to 170 degrees. Stir in sugar until dissolved.

4. Whip egg yolks in a small bowl then whisk in 1/2 of cream mixture. Whisk egg mixture back into sauce pan and return to medium heat.

5. Cook, stirring steadily until mixture coats the back of a spoon and a finger drawn through the back of the spoon leaves a trail and mixture registers 170 – 175 degrees F. Do not boil.

6. Strain mixture into a medium bowl in large bowl surrounded by ice.

7. Stir in remaining cream, add water to ice, and cool until ice melts then cover bowl and refrigerate for at least three hours until cold.

8. Freeze mixture in ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s directions then scoop into an airtight container and put in freezer to harden.

For many the arrival of spring brings on the dreaded attack of the sinuses. For many years I fell pray to this as well. I would have to take sinus medications on a daily basis just to get some relief. And this irritated me because I have never been a lover of medications. I always preferred to take natural or herbal remedies to cure my aliments.

Over the years I found myself clearing out my medicine cabinets and restocking them with herbal teas–hyssop, peppermint, dandelion, nettle etc. The teas worked so well that I started to purchase the herbs in liquid form too. Whenever I’m attracted by the sinus monster I use hyssop or peppermint tea. I have found it beneficial to also use the oils to rub my body down as well. In a short time my nasal passages are open and I can breathe comfortably.

There are may other oils that are also beneficial for sinus troubles–eucalyptus, angelica root, clove bud, pine, sweet basil, and lemon. If you’re tired of having to use medications to manage your sinus problems why not explore the possibility of essential oils?

Essential oils are versatile and can be used in your bath or as a ointment for your body. You can even purchase them as a herb and use them in your tea.

Lavender is a powerful flower with a scent that can chase your depression blues away! It’s fragrance helps to relieve stress and it is beneficial for the skin, burns, headaches, psoriasis and can be used in aroma therapy. For centuries lavender has been used as a digestive aid, tonic, sedative and an antiseptic. It can be used to treat dizziness, insomnia, colds, insect bites, and as a appetite stimulator. But did you know lavender can also be used as a tea?

This wonderful spice can be used to soothe and calm your nerves.

Lavender Tea Recipe

Source: eHow

Place the lavender between tow pieces of wax paper.

Place a weight on top of the wax paper.

Wait one to tow days until the blossoms are dried.

Remove the weight and take out the flowers.

Remove the leaves from the stem.

Crumble the dried leaves and place into a plastic bag.

Add hot water to tea pot.

Place dried lavender into a tea ball (tea bag). Place it into the water.

Bring to a boil.

Remove from heat.

Let steep for five minutes.

Remove tea ball or bag.

Serve hot or iced.

Alternative Method

Source: eHow

Chop up your Lavender leaves/flowers into small pieces (use a sharp knife or a herb-cutter). Put it in your cup. Pour hot/boiling water over until the cup is full. Let stand for 10-20 minutes. Stir well and take out the Lavender. Add suger and milk (if so pleased) and drink.

Please do not use lavender at florists or any other flower shop; they might be sprayed with chemicals that is not suitable for human consumption. Only use Lavender you are COMPLERELY 100% POSITIVELY SURE IS NOT SPRAYED! “Hand-bred” lavenders are probably the best candidate for the tea.

Lavenders are strong, so do NOT add more than three (which is already VERY STRONG) chopped lavender leaves/flowers. This tea can also be used for medical uses: headaches, stomach cramps, depressed souls and can be used to soak wounds/injuries.

Consult your doctor before using this in place of your medications.

Why not?

Lavender has many uses. This spice is versatile. It can be used as a digestive aid, depression reliever, stress balancer, emotional uplifter, headache alleviator, skin treatment and a host of other things. Now you can use lavender to make your own homemade cookies! And block out stress and aggravation to boot.
